HONG KONG insurance boss Terry Smith and his wife yesterday met daughter Lisa Marie for the first time since she was arrested at Bangkok airport carrying four kilograms of drugs.

 Thai police have started to search for the gang of Pakistani men who the 20-year-old says gave her the bag with the drugs to take to Tokyo in exchange for a free ticket and spending money.

 Police Lieutenant Suphavat Jikaree said Smith was upset after meeting her parents.

 After further analysis of the drugs, she will be charged with trying to smuggle hashish and amphetamines out of the country. Smith's arrest was almost certainly the result of a tip-off because she was arrested before reaching the check-in counter.
