MITSUI O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has started an East Africa-bound full-container operations with Singapore connection establishing a twice-monthly service system for East Africa in line with the existing semi-container service direct to East Africa from Far East.
The service is provided on the carrier's Singapore/East Africa (Port Louis, Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam) route on a once-monthly basis with the 600-TEU container ship Kilimanjaro separately from the existing once-monthly semi-container operation on the Japan-South Korea-Taiwan-Hongkong-Singapore-East Africa route.
The full-container service also will accept 40-foot containers, a need which has been increasing in the trade.
Direct calls will also be made to Tamatave in Madagascar in the Port Louis, Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam semi-container service.
