PHILIPS Electronics has named Victor K. H. Loh as president and chief executive officer of Philips Electronics China.

Mr Loh will be entrusted with the general management of the company in China and Hong Kong.

He is currently chairman and president of the Philips organisation in Singapore and will continue to hold this position concurrently, apart from his other position as managing director for the global operations of Business Group Audio. BASF has appointed Bernd Kremmling as chairman of its newly founded holding company in China, BASF (China).

Mr Kremmling joined BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Germany, in 1968 and has extensive experience in the export business for BASF's textile dyestuffs and auxiliaries.

Previously, he was managing director of BASF China in Hong Kong in 1994 and director of marketing for Specialty Chemicals in BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Germany.

BSI Pacific has appointed William Quilindo as chief executive.

  BSI Pacific is a new venture between Inchcape, the international services and marketing group, and the British Standards Institution aimed at providing ISO 9000 certification services in greater China.

 Mr Quilindo was formerly regional vice-president, Asia Pacific, of Inchcape Testing Services Pacific.

 He has 12 years' experience in quality assurance in Asia, having joined Inchcape's testing and inspection operations in Hong Kong in 1984.THE Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA) has promoted Kent Hayden Sadler to deputy executive director and Grace Lee to finance and administration director.

  Also, Sabrina Leung has been named general manager of human resources.

   Mr Hayden Sadler, who was previously marketing director, has worked for the HKTA for more than 20 years during which he has held a number of marketing and management posts in Hong Kong and Britain.

   Prior to his appointment as marketing director in 1994, he was regional director for Europe.

   Mrs Lee, who was previously general manager of finance and administration, is an associate and fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants as well as an associate of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants.

  Before joining the HKTA, Ms Leung was director of human resources and training at the Conrad International Hong Kong Hotel.GLENN Heitmann has been named executive vice-president and Robert Nansteel II as vice-president of engineering at professional cladding consultants Heitmann & Associates.

 Mr Heitmann has been with the company since 1985 and most recently served as vice-president of sales and marketing.

 Mr Nansteel has been with the company since 1976 and most recently served as director of technical services.COLIN Broadhurst has been named an executive director of Cosmopolitan International Holdings.

 He has had an extensive career in the securities industry and was an executive director of the Mansion House Group for more than 10 years.

  Prior to that, he was at the Hongkong Bank group for six years as manager of investments in Hong Kong.JONES Lang Wootton has named Lampson Lam as managing director of JLW's Beijing representative office. Mr Lam has extensive experience working with multinational corporations in developing their corporate real estate strategies.ROBERT A. Rasmussen has been appointed vice-president and chief financial officer of New York Life Insurance Worldwide.

  Mr Rasmussen has had 30 years' experience in the life insurance business, primarily in Canada.

  During the past three years, he has been active in Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.OUTPLACEMENT consultancy Davidson & Associates has appointed Caroline Swain as managing director of its new Hong Kong office.

 Ms Swain previously spent six years as senior consultant with P-E Handley-Walker (HK).
