MR Martin Lee has once again gone to London on yet another mercy mission and has recently been quoted on the radio as saying that he was disappointed by the dialogue and general attitude of the English Government.

So what is new, Mr Lee? I have no doubt that you had that statement already written before you left Hong Kong. Perhaps now you will grasp reality and get on with the basic and practical matters of the transition.

You should take a good look at the big picture, Mr Lee, and welcome the opportunity for Hong Kong to re-invent itself and shed its old skin with the opportunity to re-generate itself and try to influence the new and rightful sovereign power. You should think yourself lucky in some ways, Mr Lee.

Look at the poor Scottish people; they have lived under English colonial rule for over 300 years, forced to sign an unfair treaty, stripped of the natural resources, sons and daughters lost in the English conflicts all over the world, and devoid of any hope for the future, apart from the hope of independence.

Mr Lee and the Hong Kong people have a chance with China, while the poor Scottish people have to suffer further under the colonial English Government. Don't be disappointed Mr Lee, just grow up and face the facts.
