ALMOST a week after the tender for the $2.4 billion Tuen Mun river terminal closed, New World Infrastructure has confirmed it has submitted a bid as part of a five-member consortium. The five have formed a company called Odelon, which will vie with at least one other confirmed bidder, River Trade Terminal Co, to build the terminal - the first of its kind in Hong Kong. The Lands Department has not disclosed the number of bids submitted. The four other members of Odelon are Henderson Land Development, SHK Hong Kong, Guangzhou Investment and Sea-Land Orient Terminals. River Trade Terminal Co comprises Sun Hung Kai Properties, mainland-controlled shipping group Cosco Pacific, Hutchison International Port Holdings and Jardine Matheson. The department will award the contract at the end of March.
