With the exception of the Sing Tao Daily and Hong Kong Economic Times, all the other Chinese-language papers suffered double digit decreases in readership. The Oriental Daily News, the Apple Daily's chief rival, suffered a 16 per cent drop in readership but managed to retain its crown as the territory's number one newspaper with 26 per cent of the market and 1.41 million readers.
