Fashion to make heads turn

LONDON, the city that invented the mini-skirt, launched the European fashion season for the first time in years, with the grand London Fashion Week which opened a few days ago.

Rustling through an assortment of venues, models sported autumn and winter wear from top designers around the world. The work of students of fashion design schools also enjoyed a prominent place in the week of style.

As with any fashion event, outfits ranged from the coyly restrained to the downright bizarre.

Hats came in particularly eyebrow-raising styles - from conventional feathers and net to deer antlers and even strands of barbed wire wrapped round the head.
