PRIZE money for this season's San Miguel FA Cup has been doubled. Total cash on offer will amount to $455,000 - more than twice last season's total of $226,000. The top four teams in the first round of the league - South China, Instant-Dict, Golden and Uhlsport-Rangers - have been seeded in the 10-team tournament which kicks off on March 18 at Mongkok Stadium. Rangers will be looking to defend their title which carries a price tag of $251,000 in prize money. They face Frankwell in a quarter-final match on March 25 and then take on Sing Tao, Eastern or South China in the semi-final on April 7. Sing Tao will face Eastern in a first-round match on March 19 and the winners will play the Caroliners on March 24. The lower half of the draw sees Mansion challenging Happy Valley on March 18; the winners clashing with Instant-Dict in the quarter-finals on March 22. The remaining place of the semi-finals will be decided between Golden and Club who will clash on March 21. The first two rounds of six matches will be played at Mongkok Stadium with the semi-finals on April 7 and the final on April 21 being staged at the Hong Kong Stadium. Meanwhile, Third Division side Team Fuji were kicked out of the league last night after violating HKFA regulations three times which included not providing a supervisor or non-playing official at matches.
