SECOND-PLACED Golden are hoping to be table-toppers after their meeting with South China at the Hong Kong Stadium today. Golden were subdued by title favourites South China in their last meeting after an own goal by former Manchester United full-back Mike Duxbury helped the Caroliners to a 2-1 victory in the final of the Senior Challenge Shield in December. Golden also lost to the Caroliners 6-0 in the first round of the league in November but they can go joint-top of the second stage league with a victory against their deadly rivals. Golden have 11 points, three behind leaders Instant-Dict, after six games while South China are in third spot on 10 points, with two games in hand over the Dickies after today's fixture. Golden also have a game in hand over the league leaders. Meanwhile, England have added five players to the squad due to travel to Hong Kong to play a Golden Xl on May 26. The 29-man squad now boasts Liverpool stars Robbie Fowler and Stan Collymore, Aston Villa's Ugo Ehiogu and Alan Wright plus Nottingham Forest midfielder Steve Stone. Welsh wizard Ryan Giggs and Argentine goal-scoring machine Gabriel Batistuta are being invited to guest star in Golden's Select XI. Golden president Simon Wan Chi-lok said: 'We'll know by the end of next week whether the pair can come but we are confident.'
