THIS letter is in regard to the level of service - or should I say lack of service - being provided by Hutchison Telecommunications to its 'analog' cellular service customers.
For the past two weeks or so, I have been having a tough time trying to get through on the handset that I'm using. It takes at least eight to 12 tries to get through on the analog network, when in the past I would get through right away.
I could not find any reason for this sudden huge disparity in the number of times needed to put a call through, other than that Hutchison is closing down its analog stations-cell sites and converting them into their digital network.
If this is the reason, Hutchison Telecommunications should not charge its customers the monthly fees we are paying due to the lack of performance on their side; they are not providing what they have promised to do. Also, on incoming calls, I've not been receiving them in places where the signal is at its strongest.
If this is the way Hutchison is trying to move its customers from its analog system to its digital network, it is doing it the wrong way.
We pay good money for a service that we expect to receive and this is such a shame, as I have always admired Hutchison Telecommunications.
