ANGUISHED mother Cheng Tam Lin-sui last night wept after learning of the court decision.

'Where is justice? Is the court still for justice? Do they know what it is like losing a son? How can they come to this conclusion?' the 57-year-old woman said.

Mrs Cheng's son, Ming-wai, 20, was one of six pedestrians crushed to death in the demolition site accident.

The other victims - two women and three men - were Cheng Chi-fong, 27; Lee Mong-chee, 57; Wong Chi-fai, 36; Yim Wai-leung, 52; and Wong Chun, 58.

'I do not know much about the law. But the Government's report last year found problems with the method and sequence of the demolition. Why did the court release all the people?' Mrs Cheng asked.

She was referring to the Buildings Department investigation first presented in the Coroner's Court last May.
