An AIDS awareness group is being prevented from distributing condoms and pamphlets at the Hong Kong Stadium during the Rugby Sevens.

AIDS Concern says its volunteers will be restricted to distributing the materials in the streets outside the arena as condoms are 'unauthorised'.

Stadium managers Wembley International say no unauthorised posters, leaflets, newspapers or merchandise can be sold or distributed on the arena's property, which includes the stairs and footpaths outside.

The group intends to hand out about 5,000 condoms and leaflets on AIDS and HIV before the 5.30 pm kickoff on March 29.

Wembley sales and marketing manager Terence Lee Chi-hang said sponsors' and Union goods would be sold or distributed in the stadium.
