Bridges aren't just steel; they connect communities and make a positive social impact. It is these strong social responsibilities and the state-of-the-art technologies deployed that distinguish Mabey Bridge as a world-class engineering firm, which provides tailored solutions at reduced project times and financial costs. Such a commitment to perfecting design and implementation has driven the Mabey family business into more than 140 countries, while maintaining its integrity and identity.

"Mabey Bridge goes beyond developing award-winning projects; we pride ourselves on helping shape infrastructure development - from improving modern cities to connecting communities in remote parts of the world," says CEO Chris Droogan. "Our heritage, creativity, innovation and service drive the company culture and success. Organisational strengths in safety, health, environment, quality and ethics enable us to become the trusted global supplier of choice."

Excelling in technically challenging projects that require exceptional innovation and creativity, Mabey Bridge works closely with customers to optimise design buildability, while minimising costs and lead times - as exemplified in the Sri Lanka Regional Bridging Project. Comprising 142 bridges and valued at about HK$845 million, the project was extremely challenging because no two bridging solutions were the same and because of the tight five-year timeframe.

Another achievement that has solidified Mabey Bridge's position is a rural road development project in Malaysia, where its modular bridging solution has become the standard in Malaysian new road schemes.

The company has also delivered numerous projects in other parts of Asia, which it sees as a core geographic market with strong growth potential and opportunities. It aims to broaden its presence in the region by delivering turnkey projects through potential partnerships with local contractors and consultants.

"We also target greater penetration in international markets, pursuing more commercial opportunities in vertical markets such as mining, energy and utilities," Droogan says. "We look forward to working even more closely with global engineering and procurement contractors on infrastructure projects worldwide."
