China scored a sporting victory over rivals Taiwan yesterday when it was unanimously admitted as a full and official member of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).
It is believed that the Chinese were previously unable to become members because of Taiwan's hesitance.
However, according to sources, Taiwan was put under a lot of pressure not to stand in the way of China.

The three-member Chinese delegation, led by Cui Zhiqiang, secretary-general of the Chinese Golf Association, attended yesterday's APGC meeting in Singapore.
China's acceptance means that its players can now compete in the Putra Cup Southeast Asian Amateur Championships and the Nomura Asia-Pacific tournament.
