A police revolver went off as an officer struggled with three men during an anti-drugs swoop in Ngau Tau Kok yesterday.
Sergeant Kong Yiu-cheung, 37, of Kowloon West regional special duty squad subdued two men but the other suspect escaped.
No one was hit by the bullet, although Sergeant Kong and one of the two suspects sustained minor injuries in the scuffle.
The officer intercepted the men outside a shop near Choi Yuet House, Choi Ha Estate at about 3.30 pm.
'The officer drew his revolver when he was assaulted by the men. One of the men grabbed his arm and one shot was fired,' Chief Inspector Brian George of Kowloon West Region (Narcotics) said.
As he was led away, one of the arrested men claimed the shot went off when he was pistol-whipped by the officer.
