New Zealand's champion ball-winner Dallas Seymour will face a fitness test this morning at King's Park and is in danger of missing the Cathay Pacific HongkongBank Sevens, writes Alvin Sallay.
An eight-time Hong Kong Sevens veteran, Seymour has been struggling with a sore hamstring.
Seymour has been doing light training with the squad but his injury has not cleared up, leading to worried team officials deciding to put him to a test today.
On Sunday, Seymour said his injury was 'nothing serious' while watching the rest of his teammates train in the middle. But it is understood that he is still badly hampered by the hamstring.
If Seymour is declared unfit, New Zealand sevens coach Gordon Tietjens will call up Owen Scrimegour. The forward played for New Zealand at the Fiji Sevens a fortnight ago.
'I hope Dallas is okay because we need him. His experience will be missed if he is unavaliable,' said skipper Eric Rush.
