A District Court judge reprimanded a barrister for being ill-prepared for a trial. Judge Brian Caird told Simon Lam Ken-chung he was not prepared to accept guilty pleas from Leung Kam-kan, 43, who admitted wounding his son and wife with hammers even though he was drunk and could not remember it. The judge told Mr Lam to devote all day to advising his client. Mr Lam would have to forgo a planned trip abroad next week if the case did not finish in time. It resumes today.
