During a recent visit to the office of a friend, I realised the sort of fun things you could do with a PC.

My friend had programmed his computer to make various interesting sounds when he executed certain functions.

For example, every time he started up his computer and launched Windows 95, Robin Williams' voice would scream 'Gooooooood morning Vietnaaaaaaam!' from the movie of the same name.

My friend, however, is a smug person whose idea of teaching someone to do something is to have you learn to do it yourself.

It's sort of like my mother telling me when I was seven to look up a word in a dictionary that I had just asked her how to spell. How can I learn about something when I don't know where to start? Can you help? I'd like to make my computer (and Windows 95) a bit more fun than it is.

JASON PETERS Clearwater Bay I know the feeling about mothers, dictionaries and spelling, if nothing else. Fun, isn't it? But probably not as much fun as you can have with your PC if you get some cool sounds in it that it can spew at you when you perform various functions, whether they be good, bad, intentional or accidental.
