About $1 million has been used to meet the victims families' immediate needs.

Principal Hui Wing-ho said some of the rest would be used to support the long-term costs of recovery of the severely burned students.

Some would be used to set up scholarships in the names of teacher Wong Sau-mei and Chow Chi-chai, who were killed in the fire.

He said fund-raising would continue as the cost of long-term recovery of burned patients would be huge.
