A 38-year-old man was shot dead in Ping Shan, Yuen Long, last night after a confrontation over a patch of land. Tang Kai-lun was with four friends in the Sheung Cheung Wai car park arguing with five men over the ownership of the land, a fishpond that had reportedly been reclaimed for use as a container truck park. Two men drew pistols and Tang was shot in the stomach. He was pronounced dead at Tuen Mun hospital at 6.50 pm. Tang, the owner of several car parks in Yuen Long, was married with two daughters as well as a son. His younger daughter is only six weeks old. Police were looking for a 35-year-old man in connection with the murder. The man was last seen wearing a baseball cap and white sportswear, heading for Tin Yau Court, Tin Shui Wai, after the shooting. His 31-year-old brother was helping police with their investigation last night.
