A teenager, in the first conviction using televised evidence from a child, was placed on two years' probation yesterday. The 18-year-old defendant sexually abused an eight-year-old boy. In the District Court, Judge Carlye Chu Fun-ling said the defendant had received severe punishment because of the 'very traumatic' court experience. Rehabilitation was appropriate. The teenager pleaded not guilty to seven charges of indecent assault. He was found guilty on one count.
