Three teenagers who threw more than 1,000 of a stallholder's eggs at each other were fined yesterday. The students and five other boys fled Western wholesale food market after their antics disturbed the owner of the egg shop, who was asleep inside his stall. Chan Chi-chor said 1,080 eggs were missing after the incident on February 25. He found the identity card of Leung Tak-chin, 16, among the broken shells and egg mess. Leung and his friend, Leung Wai-choi, 16, were arrested. Cheng Chi-ho, 15, surrendered on March 16. They pleaded guilty to a joint charge of theft. The other boys were not found. Magistrate Paul Kelly fined the Leungs $500 each and ordered them to pay $720 to Mr Chan. Cheng's case will be heard in the juvenile court in Sai Wan Ho on Wednesday.
