GATT negotiator leaves

Japan has temporarily recalled from Geneva its chief negotiator in the talks under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

The Government expexts little progress at a meeting of the Trade negotiations Committee scheduled for tomorrow, because of the impending inauguration of US President-elect Bill Clinton.
