Manila to raise deficit issue at talks

The Philippines and China will hold trade talks in Beijing next week, Filipino officials say.

Manila would discuss its growing trade deficit with China at the April 21-26 talks, Trade Under-Secretary Melito Salazar, the chief Philippine negotiator, said. The Philippines sustained a deficit of more than US$521 million last year in trade worth $703.93 million.
