WE are still having delays on the 7.45am ferry from Yung Shue Wan, Lamma Island, to Central.
Despite announcements for people to board on time, on January 4 and 5, the bell rang at 7.45, then some late-comers started to run. The gates did not close at 7.45, and even after the last person had boarded, the ferry did not leave on schedule.
Why don't they ring the bell at 7.40 and let late-comers make a dash in the next few minutes and close the gates? There is no point in making announcements if ferry staff do not act on them. There have also been occasions when the 6.40pm from Central hasnot left on time.
Lastly, will the Hongkong and Yau Ma Tei Ferry Company please stop those irritating, squeaky recorded announcements every morning? ELIZABETH BOLLONI Lamma
