SURVIVORS and families of victims of the 1994 China Airlines crash at Nagoya airport in Japan have filed a lawsuit seeking 1.28 billion yen (about HK$92.41 million) from the airline and the plane's manufacturer, Airbus Industrie.
Three of the seven survivors, two Japanese and a Taiwanese, and 17 families of four Taiwanese victims filed the suit with the Nagoya District Court, the Daily Yomiuri reported, citing Kyodo news. They joined a group of plaintiffs consisting of 313 family members of victims who filed a suit seeking 25.7 billion yen in total, just one week before the two-year statute of limitation expires on April 26, the report said.
The Airbus 300-600, owned by China Airlines, crash-landed in Nagoya killing 264 people in April 1994.
