On the morning of March 29, there was a heavy downpour, which made the usual rush-hour traffic even more congested than usual. This was a problem for my sister who had to go to the A-Level listening examination centre.
She was going by taxi, but the taxi rank queue in Taikoo Shing was very long. So we decided to go to Tin Hau by MTR, hoping that there would be fewer people waiting for taxis there.
However, the queue was long. So, we approached the taxis which were parked away from the taxi stand, not realising they were only for Kowloon-bound passengers. We thought if we explained our situation a driver would make an exception. They refused to make the short trip. Finally, I persuaded one to go to the Polytechnic University via the centre.
I am not sure how many students suffered from the heavy downpour, but I hope they did not come across as many hard hearts as we did.
