The Chief Secretary leaves for Beijing this afternoon for more talks with Hong Kong and Macau Affairs office director Lu Ping .
In addition to vital issues affecting civil service morale, Anson Chan Fang On-sang said she would also discuss co-operation with the Preparatory Committee and the Special Administrative Region Government chief executive.
The Governor said Mrs Chan would also reply to the demands made by the Preparatory Committee for government assistance.
However, as expected, the Government will reject calls to assist the provisional legislature.
'We will respond positively and constructively on others, some of which are straightforward,' said a government source.
Mrs Chan would also seek clarification on some specific requests, the source said, such as airtime on the RTHK for the committee, hinting that it might be offered time slots for Announcement of Public Interest as given to the Government.
But they did not expect an early response from China since Beijing would need time to study the Government's response.
