Primary and secondary school students are expected to be out in force for the All-Schools Table Tennis Competition which starts next month. The annual tournament, sponsored by Epson Hong Kong (Ltd), is open to all students 12 years and under. The Hong Kong Table Tennis Association is hoping that more youngsters will compete in the event as it is part of a promotion scheme which will eventually groom players for international competition. The best players from the tournament will undergo intensive training in the summer and will ultimately represent the territory in international under-12 events culminating in the East Asia Hope Tournament in Japan. 'Playing and competing in Japan will be an enriching experience for the youngsters,' said HKTA general manager Albertina Lam.
