Bogus social worker hunt

A BOGUS social worker is conning elderly people out of their life savings, police revealed yesterday. Detectives are hunting for a woman in her 30s who persuaded an 82-year-old woman to hand over $33,000.

The same woman is believed to have swindled a 60-year-old out of $6,000 last week. She told victims she would open a Social Welfare Department account for them.
