Lu's paper chase at new office

Lu Ping may have had good reason for giving slow answers to handover questions. His papers may have got lost in his new office.

Mr Lu admitted the office was not in good order when he met a business delegation there yesterday.

'Many things are still cluttered on the floor of my office. I can't find the things I want,' he said.

Mr Lu and his aides moved into the new home last week from a smaller building they shared with media organisations.

The Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office and the Preparatory Committee's Secretariat now occupy five floors of a building near the Diaoyutai state guesthouse.

Mr Lu said he had moved after he returned from Zhuhai where the next session of the Preparatory Committee would be held this month.
