Output rises

China produced 30.48 million tonnes of fertilisers in the first quarter of this year, up 11.3 per cent from the same period last year.

Most fertiliser plants exceeded their production targets for March, the People's Daily said yesterday.

Between October last year and February, China imported 5.38 million tonnes of fertilisers, an increase of 1.03 million tonnes from a year earlier, it said.
