Books ranging from golfing to those with tips on life have been recommended by two leading booksellers as gifts for mothers.
Patricia Ng, assistant sales manager of the Hong Kong Book Centre, suggests the paperback novel, Behind the Scenes at the Museum ($119), which won Kate Atkinson the Whitbread Book of the Year.
A London Times critic said of the book: 'Written with an extraordinary passion . . . with images of bewitching potency.' For golfers, Ms Ng recommends Harvey Tenick's humorous Little Blue Golf Book - Lessons and Teachings for Women Golfers ($170).
Considering clothes are another preoccupation of Hong Kong women, she recommends Fashion and Colour ($161.50).
For cat-loving mums, she says the large paperback Cats of the Greek Islands ($254.50) has colour photographs of felines in beautiful settings.
For cooks, Ms Ng suggests Flavours of India, by Indian writer Madhur Jaffrey ($221). It contains more than 100 recipes from different regions of India.
Deepa Mirchandani, marketing manager of Bookazine, suggests The Family Circle Cookery Encyclopaedia ($360).
