Chinese need African education

In your article 'Jiang to visit six African countries' (South China Morning Post, April 24), President Jiang Zemin says he wants to 'win African friends'. I am African-American, and I feel Mr Jiang could win more African friends by ensuring that people of African descent in China are treated better.

I have reached the point that when I hear Chinese say hei gui (black devil), I respond with huang gui (yellow devil). When they stare, I stare. These people are not ready for an international world - they need to be educated. Black people should not support people who have contempt for them.
