Asian shipowners to meet

Eighty-four shipowners from the region are expected to attend the 5th Asian Shipowners Forum on Monday. The meeting, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, will discuss stabilisation of freight rates in the industry.

Other topics will include enhancement of recruitment, training and standards of Asian seafarers, reactivation of ship scrapping, promotion of safe navigation and establishment of direct access to ship insurance in Asia.
