A year ago Regine Velasquez was a teeny pop Filipina idol, but she has come a long way since then.
Today she is a veteran of ballroom shows and a diva with a decade in show business under her belt.
The last time Sunday Young Post spoke to her, in August 1995, she was dressed in a casual T-shirt, tight pants and had highlights in her hair. This time she wore a grey suit and a diamond watch.
Last time, she was capitalising on the success of the love serenade In Love with You with Jacky Cheung Hok-yau. This time she sang for gentlemen in tuxedos and ladies in jewelled gowns in a grand hotel ballroom.
'I've done a lot since the last time I was in town. I have finished shooting a movie [Wanted: Perfect Mother] and celebrated my 10th anniversary in show business.
'It's all happening at the same time, and it's like I have no rest at all,' said the 26-year-old diva.
In fact, she even has a hard time trying to review her career to date.
