Cathay bid devalues charity

Swire

IF the Cathay Pacific management have any self-respect left they will now call off their war with their staff, concede the legitimate demands of their flight attendants and resign.

As a contributor (albeit in small amounts) to the community I am offended that the Cathay management, who are obviously losing a strike that is about maintaining profits over passenger safety, can attempt to blackmail people who care, and who obviously have a legitimate grievance about returning to work, by offering to donate their profits to the Community Chest. How low can they go? Instead of contributing their profits on a regular basis to the Community Chest, the Cathay management have instead chosen this moment to use those in need to try and break a strike. This public relations exercise has left me disgusted and devalued my contribution to nil. How about Cathay donating some of their profits back to the community when things are back to normal. Do pigs fly? Or for that matter do Cathay management? I think not. It is only because of the confidence and bravery of the Cathay staffthat I shall, in future, fly with the airline. When the staff win I know I will be safe in their hands. NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
