MARAUDING forward Dave Bulbeck makes a surprise return to the international scene with the Hongkong squad at this week's Darwin Sevens.

Former Flying Kukris player Bulbeck left the territory after the 1990 Hongkong Sevens, where he played a key role in helping Hongkong to victory in the Plate event.

He spent more than two years working in a brokerage firm in England but returned to Hongkong last year.

Bulbeck was called up to the Hongkong squad yesterday by national coach George Simpkin to replace the experienced Gary Cross, who was forced to pull out because of injury.

Valley winger Satoshi Ishimoto gets the chance to make his name in sevens as a replacement for injured policeman Jim Walker.

German forward Mathias Entenmann will leave with the 10-man squad today despite a slight hamstring injury.

At one point during Hongkong's build-up, injuries reached crisis-point, and there was talk about the territory pulling out of the 32-strong tournament.
