CHINA yesterday handed over a suspected Sun Yee On triad member wanted for a gang rape in Tuen Mun in 1989. The 22-year-old man was the third Hongkong fugitive to be deported by mainland security authorities so far this year. The man was handcuffed, hooded and taken to a van for the drive to the Causeway Bay headquarters of the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau. Detective Superintendent Samson Yu Mun-sang said the suspect surrendered to Shenzhen police earlier this month. ''We believe he had escaped to China in early 1992 when we mounted a joint anti-Sun Yee On raid with Tuen Mun police,'' he said. ''During that raid, we arrested six suspected triads wanted for the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in Tai Hing Estate on August 28, 1989.'' The suspect is expected to be charged with rape and being a member of triad society.
