The EU Parliament criticised China yesterday for 'intensifying its policy of repression and intimidation' in Tibet and carrying out 'forced movements of people'.
Deputies said they were concerned by reports that Chinese authorities had extended a ban on pictures of the Dalai Lama to schools and homes. They called on Beijing to respect religious freedoms, and said a parliamentary committee on relations with China would raise the questions at its next meeting with Beijing representatives.
