The change in Dragonair's ownership, with the China National Aviation Corporation becoming the largest shareholder, will not undermine the autonomy of the aviation industry, a senior government official said.
Independent legislator Dr Leong Che-hung had asked whether the Government would clarify with China whether CNAC's takeover would affect the Special Administrative Region's economic autonomy.
Acting Secretary for Economic Services Leo Kwan Wing-wah said Dragonair continued to be a Hong Kong airline despite the change in ownership.
