A traffic constable who killed a pedestrian with his speeding van last year has been banned from driving police vehicles for a year.
But Wong Man-fai, 26, who was fined $10,000 for reckless driving by a court last month, faces more disciplinary action ranging from advice to dismissal.
Traffic Kowloon East's Senior Superintendent Lo Chu-hung said Wong was transferred from the section after they decided to impose the year-long ban on him.
He said Wong, who was suspended from work after the accident last October, resumed foot patrols in Tseung Kwan O last Monday.
Wong, who was also required to pay $5,000 legal costs, was driving the van to the scene of an accident near the Tseung Kwan O Tunnel when he knocked down print worker Chan Chai-shui, 54.
