Cable TV struck back at Discovery Bay managers last night in their battle over residents' television sets with an offer to show Euro 96 soccer games for $1. It made a 'generous' offer to pipe the games into the residents' club for the nominal fee. The residential community had sought to tune into a free Indonesian channel broadcasting the games. Cable operations director Eric Tsun Lo said the company had written to technicians and managers saying bypassing their system would be a breach of copyright. The station has the exclusive rights for airing the matches in Hong Kong. A Discovery Bay management official said it was unlikely to take up the offer.
