A certificate programme in Retail Management will be jointly offered by Retail Management Association (RMA) and Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University next month. Michael Tien, chairman of the Education and Training Sub-committee of RMA, said the programme was based on the results of a survey which was conducted last year. Questionnaires were sent to all members of the association, and the majority were willing to support the programme. Dr Anthony Tam, director of PACE, said the programme was designed for supervisors and managers in the retail industry. Subject to an attendance of no less than 75 per cent plus a pass on the assessment of each of the six modules of the programme, the student will be granted a Certificate of Attainment of Retail Management. Minimum academic qualification for admission is Form Five or equivalent. However, the requirement is waived for students aged over 21 with three years' relevant working experience.
