DEBORAH Winger reckons fame is not all it is cracked up to be. The actress told Esquire magazine: ''I never had any inclination to be famous, and anybody who consciously seeks it - well, they're either naive or insane. ''You're going to wake up in the morning and not be able to go anywhere without people staring at you, you're going to have most of your meals interrupted, you're going to fear for your safety and that of your children, you're going to soar in the financial ozone for part of your life and then probably end up destitute. ''And nobody will believe you're broke, and you'll be too proud to ask for anything. ''Your mistakes will be recorded for future generations to snigger at. ''As for your family, you'll probably go through a five-year period when they resent everything you're doing and have a hard time accepting the gifts you're working so hard to give them. You'll face bitterness and jealousy your entire life.''
