Cargo boost for Emirates
EMIRATES, the international airline of the United Arab Emirates, has a cargo capacity of 12 tonnes with full passenger load on the Airbus which began service in November.
Mr Edwin Lau, Emirates' area manager for Hongkong said while some airlines were cancelling orders for the new fleet, Emirates was expanding, adding five Airbuses last year.
The airline also has received the Travel Weekly for the 1992 best airline to the Middle East.
Earlier, this month, Emirates took top position in Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing's Arab Travel Awards as Best Airline Serving the Middle East.
This year, the airline will take delivery of two more Airbuses, an A310-300ER in March, followed by an A300-600R in August.
