Former Scottish international Tommy Hutchison played his final game for one-time local giants Bulova at the Hong Kong Stadium in 1983, he blew kisses to the crowd in an emotional farewell to the adoring fans who viewed him as one of the best wingers to ever play in the territory.

His appeal in Hong Kong had obviously not waned, proved when Hutchison returned 13 years later to blow kisses to soccer fans in the territory.

Hutchison, a fit-looking 48-year-old, was making a guest appearance in the territory playing for a Seiko/Bulova Select team against Hong Kong 80s in Chan Fat-chi's testimonial match - Chan being a former star with the now-defunct Bulova.

One cannot help but hark back to Hutchison's heroics as a dynamic left winger in Hong Kong, in the autumn of his career, and throughout the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s - firstly with Alloa Athletic in Scotland, then Blackpool, Coventry City, Manchester City, and finally Swansea.

Hutchison will probably be remembered most for his exploits when he played for Manchester City in the 1981 FA Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and incredibly both goals were scored by Hutchison. City lost the replay 3-2.

After Hutchison left Hong Kong, he continued to set records in Europe. He was the oldest soccer professional in England for five years and the oldest player in the European Cup Winners' Cup, with Swansea at the age of 42.
