HACTL remains on forecast path

Throughput at Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (HACTL) rose 4.9per cent last month over May last year.

The company said yesterday exports climbed 8.4 per cent to 54,025 tonnes, while imports rose 2.8 per cent to 56,044 tonnes.

Transshipments rose 0.1 per cent to 12,649 tonnes.

For the first five months of the year, 549,270 tonnes were handled, up 3.2 per cent over the same period last year.

'This has been somewhat of a topsy-turvy year to date,' HACTL managing director Anthony Charter said. 'But we are within 0.2 per cent of our cumulative year-to-date forecast, which tends to suggest that we will handle a new record tonnage again this year, providing there are no significant disruptions to international trade.'
