Air Hong Kong has unveiled its new corporate identity to coincide with the airline's 10th anniversary and the changeover of its fleet.

The territory's only all-cargo airline on Friday took delivery of its first replacement Boeing 747-200 freighter after two months of conversion work at Boeing's Wichita plant in Kansas and at Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co (Haeco)'s Kai Tak airport hangars.

The aircraft is the first of three 747-200 Combis - combined passenger and cargo aircraft - bought from Brazilian carrier Varig by Cathay Pacific Airways and leased to Air Hong Kong to replace its two leased freighters, a 747-100 and a 747-200.

The first 747-200 has just been converted to a full freighter and is due to enter service on June 21 after the return to the US leasing company of the 747-100.

The second aircraft is due to come out of Haeco in early August and enter service on August 14. The third is due to enter service on September 27.

The airline's chief operating officer, Stanley Hui Hon-chung, said the new livery, a flying wheel symbol made up of letter As, signified 'cargo moving like a wheel', which was a Chinese saying meaning 'brisk business'.
