Three security guards were on duty at Bonnie Gokson's Peak home when an armed intruder threatened her at knifepoint during a $3 million raid, police revealed yesterday.
Speaking for the first time about her ordeal, the design consultant said it had been 'very traumatic'.
Ms Gokson, 42, woke up at 4 am on Tuesday to find a masked raider pointing a knife at her. She said it was the first break-in at her home, but refused to comment further.
The thief, believed to be an illegal immigrant, got into her second-floor flat through an open window in the living room after climbing a drain pipe. He escaped the same way with his haul of jewellery and $4,000 in cash.
Renee Lee Lai-shan of Chesterton, the property firm in charge of Ms Gokson's block, said she would interview the security guards to find out what they were doing at the time of the break-in.
A police source said Ms Gokson was 'scared speechless and very upset' when officers arrived.
